‘ve just came back to Bucharest after I spent some time in Warsaw where I participated in the Social Impact Labs Berlin entrepreneurship training event, sponsored by SAP. As you can image, there were tough days, full of revelations, new friendships, loads of cold (beginning of November), time spent in the airport and a little bit of party.
It was quite an intense week, where I had some revelations on entrepreneurship and my experience as #ceogirl.
I will try not to bore you with too many details, but heres what I have learned in the past week
- How much I love my team
Something that sometimes people tell you or they don’t is that when you decide to be an entrepreneur and start something impactful, you need a team, no matter what they say. You need a team to motivate you and make the project stay focused on its ,,succeeded’’ goals, to get things done and to enjoy happy and sad moments together. I came to understand that I am happy with my team and I wouldn’t change it for anything in the world.
- Filling in a model business canvas is super important
To have an overall view on what you want to do. Most of the times such a template is helping you figure things out, write things down and actually understand what you are trying to do.
Networking is good, but being excited about it should also make you understand that you will not always find the nicest people. Some of them will be mean with you, some of them won’t understand your idea and some will actually congratulate you and tell you you are doing a great job. Be ready for all.
I know they all tell you to stay focused, but what I have learned this time is to stay focused on actually doing things. It is very easy to get disturbed by applying for accelerators, doing networking and going to events than actually sitting down and getting things done.
- Public speaking is not always the easiest
I have done speeches and talks of all kind, I have talked freely in front of tens of people and gave a speech in front of 700. This time though I realised that when you don’t feel prepared, sleep enough and are super stressed out, the stress is getting back at you and you shake, you blurb and all those things that happen in your head, even when you think you will nail it, you might not do it. Be prepared at least for any question, know your business in and out and enjoy the ride.
